From historic Heights bungalows to modern family homes in West University, our featured projects showcase how thoughtful remodels and new builds can enhance function, honor a home’s character, and stand the test of time.

Explore the highlights below — complete with stories and pictures that bring each project to life.

Project Highlights

Ingold

This West University remodel consisted of revamping the kitchen and living spaces by opening up the kitchen to the living area, closing off the stair case opening to the living area, and making cosmetic changes to the cabinetry. The footprint of the kitchen and adjacent breakfast nook remained the same but brightened up with new white quartz countertops, updated cabinet doors, and decorative chrome light fixtures.

E 12th Street

The scope for this project was to connect three separate buildings built in the 1920’s; two duplex residences and a two-story garage with an apartment into a single residence. We converted the existing 3,065 SF building into 4,212 SF by demolishing the middle garage and building a new two-story structure in its place, connecting the buildings together.

W 22nd

The scope of this project was a kitchen, living room, and back porch addition. Three large windows in the living room and single window in the adjacent kitchen fill the space with natural light. This, along with the layers of artificial light, highlight the beautiful finishes. Features include reclaimed hardwood floors, farmhouse sink, two-toned kitchen cabinets, white marble countertops, and stainless-steel appliances.

E 12th Street Master Bath

The focal point of the Master Bath is the black cast iron tub with Art Deco crystal chandelier above. The soft white wall color provides the perfect backdrop for this stunning space. Additional features include dual sinks with marble countertops and champagne bronze Delta fixtures, rain head shower faucet, and porcelain tile.

6th 1/2 Street

Remodels can have a huge impact on a space and this project was no exception. The L shaped kitchen was designed to open up the space and create open sight lines. Features include a farmhouse sink, two-toned kitchen cabinets, marble countertops, and upgraded stainless-steel appliances.

Nicholson

This 2520 SF traditional New Orleans style home by Creole Design Architects and interior design by Lamay Designs was one of Memory Builders first custom homes as we started our business operations. The classic colors used on the exterior and traditional lacy ironwork details are impactful and invite you in.

Designed to be an extension of the home, the 858 SF modern outdoor kitchen was built along the exterior side of the garage next to the existing pool. The trim, door hardware, and paint/stain selections were all used within the existing home and brought outside to this space to create a consistent look and feel.

Locke Lane

Memory Builders had the opportunity to complete this fun and colorful addition and partial remodel in River Oaks, that consisted of adding a guest bedroom with full bath and parlor to the back of the house. We were able to achieve vibrant spaces full of energy with the use of paint, fabric, and mixing patterns in a sophisticated way.

Redan

The studio space features French doors that open to the covered outdoor kitchen, painted concrete floors, and a full bathroom with granite countertops. The U-shaped outdoor kitchen has a brick façade with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances.

Lake Port

This 4680 SF home was a full remodel that flooded during Hurricane Harvey. The kitchen cabinet layout was redesigned, and upgrades were made throughout. Features include pre-engineered white oak hardwoods, natural stone countertops, and stainless-steel appliances.

Wynnwood

This coastal craftsman home by 2Scale Architects and interior design by Jacob Medina Designs replaces a home which received 4 feet of water from Hurricane Harvey. Like South Carolina’s Low Country, this home reconnects the interior spaces with the great outdoors with large covered porches & expansive walls of windows.

Columbia

The 2000 SF home built in the 1940’s was remodeled so that the kitchen, living, and dining room were more of an open floor plan and all rooms benefited from the tremendous amount of natural light. The garage was also divided into a studio space for the client/interior designer. Features include original hardwood floors, farmhouse sink, white quartz countertops, and stainless-steel appliances.

Oxford

The scope for this project was to fully remodel the existing 1328 SF residence built in 1931, and expand with a 1085 SF addition. Due to the historic classification the windows of the existing building were untouched, but some glass had to be replaced with original wavy glass.

19th Street

This craftsman style home by Creole Design Architects and interior design by Lamay Designs was Memory Builders first spec home as we started our business operations. The 3464 SF new construction also served as a model home staged by Thorn Patch Designs, which led to exponential growth in our business.
